icsca(イクスカ)

What is icsca?

 icsca is an IC card which can be used as a ticket for public transportation.
 Simplify subway and bus rides by charging it before use.
 It can also function as a commuter pass.

What kind of icsca is available?

 There are two types: Non-registered and Registered cards.

When lost Reissuance is available for a lost card. Please purchase a new card.

For Child icsca:You can pay automatically as Child Fares.
For Welfare discount icsca : You can pay automatically as welfare discounted fares.
When using Miyagi Kotsu or Miyakoh Bus, you need to show your certificate of disability to an operator before getting off the bus. Invalid for JR and Sendai Airport Access Line.

How to Use

Please firmly touch your icsca to the IC card reader at a ticket gate or on a fare box.

Want to Buy

  • Available for purchase at Subway Ticket Vending Machines or Ticket Counters/Bus Operation offices/In buses.
  • You need to deposit 500 yen when purchasing a new icsca.
    The deposit is refunded in return for the card.
  • Card price is 1,000 yen, 2,000 yen, 3,000 yen, 5,000 yen or 10,000 yen. (Including the deposit. The difference can be used as fares.)
  • icsca for Child, and Welfare discount are available for purchase at Ticket Counters and Bus Operation offices. (Welfare discount icsca can only be purchased at Sendai City Transportation Bureau counters. ) A disability certificate or proof to specify that the user is eligible is required for purchase.
  • icsca can be used as a commuter pass for subways and buses. You can purchase it 14 days prior to the day of first use. You can pay for the commuter pass with a credit card but not with the money charged to an icsca.

Want to Charge

  • icsca can be repeatedly charged and used.
  • Rechargeable at Subway Ticket Vending Machines or Ticket Counters/Bus Operation offices/In buses.
  • Charge limit is 20,000 yen.
  • Can only charge cash to icsca. Credit card is not acceptable.

When Lost

  • In the case where a registered icsca is lost, your card can be reissued. Please do the procedure at the Ticket Counter or the Bus Operation office. Your card can be reissued. The remaining amount and commuter pass on the lost card can be transferred to a new card when being reissued. A handling fee for reissuance and the new deposit of 500 yen are required.
  • When a lost icsca is found, please bring it to the Ticket Counter or the Bus Operation Office. The deposit of 500 yen is refunded in return for the card.
  • Please bring identification specifying your name and date of birth such as your passport or residence card when you want a lost card to be reissued or found one which was lost.

Use no more

  • If an icsca is no longer needed, the card is refundable. Please do the procedure at the Ticket Counter or the Bus Operation Office. A handling fee to receive the amount remaining on the card is required.
  • Please be sure to return the icsca card when getting a refund.
  • Please bring identification specifying your name and date of birth such as your passport or residence card when you return a registered icsca to get a refund.
  • If a commuter pass is no longer needed, only the commuter pass can be refunded.

Let's receive points by using icsca !

  • Points are added to your card by using icsca to ride on subways and buses. 1 point can be used as 1 yen for subway and bus rides if you charge the points onto your card at a Subway Ticket Vending Machine, etc.
  • Points expire one year after they are added to an icsca card, so please don't forget to charge points within the one year period.
No points are added when:
  • Using icsca as a commuter pass.
  • Purchasing transportation tickets using an icsca.
  • Paying the fare for accompanying persons.
  • Covering a shortfall of charged amount on icsca by cash.
  • Using icsca for Loople Sendai or Rakuten Shuttle Bus.
  • Using icsca for JR Line or Sendai Airport Access Line.
  • Failing to firmly touch an icsca to the reader.

Note

  • Please do not touch an icsca together with any other IC cards such as Suica to the reader.
  • Please do not put stickers on an icsca as the machines may have breakdowns.
  • A registered icsca can only be used by the person whose name is registered.Please do not lend your registered icsca to others.
  • If a registered icsca has not been used for over a half year, please show it to the station staff.
