Bus and Subway Connection Discounts
City bus and subway passengers who make connections at the following designated stations or stops are eligible to receive a 40 yen discount (20 yen for children) off their total fare.
Regular passengers are recommended to use the "City Bus and Subway Connection Commuter Pass."
※1: At these stations, connections can be made between subway trains and Miyagi Kohtsu (Miyagi Transportation Co., Ltd.) buses. As Miyagi Kohtsu bus connection discounts are restricted to certain sections only, please call Miyagi Kohtsu (TEL 771-5310) for details.
※2: At these connecting bus stops, connections cannot be made with Miyagi Kohtsu buses.
※3: At these connecting bus stops, connections cannot be made with city buses.
1) Connecting from Subway Stations to City Buses
Purchase a “connection ticket” at the subway station vending machines and enter through the ticket gates.
When exiting the gates, please be sure to take the connection ticket with you.
On boarding the city bus, take a numbered ticket. When getting off the bus, insert the connection ticket together with the numbered ticket into the cash receptacle. If you pass your stop and exceed the covering fare section of your connection ticket, please adjust the fare.
2) Connecting from City Buses to Subway Stations
Purchase a “connection ticket” from the bus driver when getting off the bus at your connecting stop.
When riding the subway, enter through the ticket gates with the connecting ticket. If you pass your station and exceed the covering fare section of your connection ticket, please adjust the fare at the adjustment machines and receive the fare adjustment ticket to exit.
■Paying by Prepaid Card Pass (Skip Card) when making connections
1) Connecting from Subway Stations to City Buses
-When riding the subway, enter directly through the ticket gates with your Skip Card.
On boarding the city bus, insert your Skip Card into the card reader at the entrance. When getting off the bus, insert your card into the card reader, and the fare with a discount of 40 yen will be automatically deducted from your card.
-For child passengers, use the Skip Card to purchase a connection ticket at the station vending machines when riding the subway, and enter through the ticket gates.
On boarding the city bus, take a numbered ticket. When getting off the bus, insert the connection ticket together with the numbered ticket into the cash receptacle.
2) Connecting from City Buses to Subway Stations
-On boarding the city bus, insert your Skip Card into the card reader at the entrance. When getting off the bus, insert your card into the card reader.
When riding the subway, enter through the ticket gates with your Skip Card. The fare with a discount of 40 yen will be automatically deducted from your card when exiting.
-For child passengers, insert the Skip Card into the card reader at the entrance. Please use the Skip Card to purchase a connection ticket from the bus driver when getting off the bus at your connecting stop.
When riding the subway, enter through the ticket gates with the connecting ticket.
